Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and mechanically minded Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to support our Raleigh Division. This position is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on machinery and equipment.
The Preventive Maintenance Mechanic will help maintain equipment in safe and reliable operating conditions by identifying potential issues before they result in equipment failure or costly downtime. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently while following established maintenance procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment according to established maintenance schedules.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify wear, damage, leaks, unusual noises, and other potential signs of failure.
Lubricate, clean, adjust, and service equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications.
Replace worn or damaged components, including filters, belts, seals, and other maintenance-related parts.
Troubleshoot and diagnose basic mechanical issues and perform minor repairs as appropriate.
Identify potential equipment problems and promptly report major issues or potential failures to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment condition.
Follow established preventive maintenance procedures and schedules to ensure timely servicing of equipment.
Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Safely operate and properly maintain hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable workplace safety requirements.
Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Mechanical aptitude and a basic understanding of mechanical principles and equipment operation.
Ability to perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
Ability to safely and effectively use common hand tools and power tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential equipment issues.
Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to accurately document maintenance activities and inspection findings.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work independently, prioritize assigned tasks, and respond appropriately to equipment issues.
Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Willingness to learn company-specific equipment, procedures, and preventive maintenance practices.
Must maintain a clean and acceptable driving record and possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening in accordance with company policy.
Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment as required.
Willingness to travel to various job sites and work locations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
· 1–2 years of experience as a technician, mechanic, equipment technician, or in a related hands-on technical role preferred.
· Previous mechanical, equipment maintenance, or preventive maintenance experience preferred.
· Relevant technical training or demonstrated mechanical aptitude may be considered in lieu of extensive experience.
· CDL is a plus but not required.

Ability to work around machinery and equipment while following established safety procedures.

Physical Requirements
· Ability to perform hands-on mechanical maintenance and repairs on equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in various positions for extended periods.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
· Ability to work in confined or tight spaces when performing inspections, maintenance, or repairs.
· Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and equipment when necessary to perform maintenance activities.
· Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions.
· Ability to maintain visual and physical attention to detail while performing inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
· Ability to safely perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
