Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated construction division manager in the South-East United States to oversee and manage various large scale, underground utility construction projects from inception to completion. The division manager oversees the daily operations, strategic planning, and financial performance of our critical facilities division to ensure it aligns with overall corporate goals. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, driving efficiency, building and leading teams, scheduling resources, and reporting performance to senior management. Ensure regulatory compliance, improve operational processes, and handle talent management. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
Primary Responsibilities
Developing and implementing plans to achieve divisional goals and promote growth.
Managing daily operations, including production, logistics, and administration to maximize efficiency’
Developing, monitoring, and controlling the division’s budget and financial performance.
Mentoring, hiring, and managing division staff, including performance evaluations. Ability to create highly dynamic and motivated teams.
Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations and providing performance reports to senior executives.
Analyzing data to identify and implement solutions for operational improvements.
Managing several teams on multiple, concurrent construction projects. Supporting and coaching through all project phases, ensuring they are completed safe, on time and within budget.
Coordinating with external clients and internal staff to ensure project expectations are mutually aligned and delivered.
Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Preparing construction estimates based on the division’s requirements.
Ensuring procurement processes, including tracking materials and equipment needs, are managed properly using construction management software.
Preparing detailed progress reports in comparison to KPI’s, project status, risks with submission to senior management.
Reviewing contracts, specifications, drawings and delivering risk assessment reports to senior management for contract acceptance approval. Managing contract adherence, changes and dispute resolution during all project lifecycles.
Qualifications & Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid Driver’s License required
Proven experience in construction management or a related field of 10-15 years required.
Strong knowledge of construction site operations and safety protocols.
Experience in underground electrical & telecommunication ductbank, directional drilling, and site electrical construction preferred.
High level of proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics.
Familiarity with construction estimating practices and tools.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Bluebeam Revu, SharePoint) is essential.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership abilities with effective communication skills for collaboration across teams.
A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is an asset but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered. MBA degree would be beneficial but is not required.
